The newly formed College of Engineering and Technology of Industries (CETI) is based on the Textile Department that founded since 1971 and continued as a department of the College of Engineering till 2000 when plastics and leather sub departments were added. In 2005 the textile department was partition into three departments viz. textile engineering, plastics engineering and leather Engineering. In 2007 the fourth department, Chemical Engineering, was added to the North campus. After the approval of the restructuring of the College of Engineering in 2011, the north campus was changed to School of Engineering and Technology of Industries including the four departments. Finally, the school was promoted to the CETI in 2014 with its four departments: Textile Engineering, Plastics Engineering, leather Engineering and Chemical Enginering.
